Revlon Lip Butters

After purchasing a lip butter in boots one day, I fell in love. Never before had I tried such a good lipstick. The first colour I bought was a colour called Berry Smoothie - 050 - The colour, surprisingly enough is light berry, hence the name berry smoothie. I love this colour and for ages it was the only thing that I would wear out. Below are some pictures of the colour.

So, after oohing and ahhing over some other colours, I decided again whilst in boots, that I really would love to try another one. After being attracted to the bright packaging I picked up a colour called Sorbet. It is a very bright colour. All the lip butters seem to be very creamy and nourishing for the lips. They stay for a decent amount of time, but my only con with this product is that I seem to be using it up so quickly. It feels like the lip butter melts, because I never use too much of it.
Nevertheless, despite that, I love everything else about them. The packaging is really cute, simple but gorgeous. They feel like quite luxurious lipsticks compared to other brands.
Below are some more pictures of sorbet.

If you like fancy trying the lip butters they retail for £7.99, however I like to buy them when all the makeup is on 3 for 2 in Boots. You can buy them online from Boots here and from Superdrug here where there are many shades to choose from.
Hope you enjoyed this post. If you have any suggestions for future posts, please let me know what you would like to see.
Thanks

April Glossybox 2013 - Big Disappointment.

Today I received my glossybox. It was free this month (redeemed my glossydots) and so I thought why not. This was mostly because I had got an email saying that the star product this month was an Essie nail varnish, so I was very excited to receive my box. I love Essie :D

I opened my box and firstly saw that I had not received an Essie nail polish but a lipcote lipstick sealer. WHAT? This is not even close to the price of an Essie polish, it retails for £3.99.

The other products were OK, but that is all. The most exciting thing in the box was an Illamasqua pencil. Even that wasn't very good, they have given me a bright pink colour.
Then I got a Nip+Fab body butter. It seems nice enough but half the product seems to be missing. It's ridiculous.
The perfume sample is a Yves Rocher eau de parfum. The bottle is pretty cute, perfect for my handbag. The smell doesn't do anything for me, but I will probably still use it.
The last thing is a collagen and aloe Vera hydro mask. You get one mask in the packet. It  doesn't look amazing. I'm young, I don't really need a collagen mask, but I suppose I'll give it a try.
I would swap an Essie Nail polish for all these products any day.
Really really disappointed with this box.
had such high hopes.
The main issue I had was that I received an email saying that the star product was an Essie polish. I assumed that the email was saying that everyone would be getting one.  It's false advertising. There was no little disclaimer at the bottom, saying, not all boxes include this, it is very misleading. I have already complained. I wish I could send my box back and get what I really wanted and thought I was getting. :(
Thanks for reading :(

Naked palette vs Sleek Storm - Similarities and Differences

So, just recently I managed to buy a product that I have wanted for a very long time. The Urban Decay Naked Palette. I went to France for the day and decided in Sephora that I just had to get it. For me there wasn't a big struggle when choosing between the Naked 1 and 2, I had always wanted the Naked 1, so that was that. I love it so much. It became the eye shadow palette that I use every day. My favourite colours are half baked, sidecar and buck. Buck is a very simple matte brown, but it is so good for your crease. Also this palette is quite neutral, which means you can wear it as your everyday look.
I also have the sleek storm palette. I bought this a long time before the naked palette, and had been using it occasionally, but no where as near as much as I use the naked palette. it is a good palette, full of perfect colours to use day to day.
I thought that because these palettes are quite similar it would be nice to compare them. I have been neglecting my blog for a while, so I thought that now would be a good time to write a new post.
Firstly I'll list the colours that are very similar to each other.
It is hard to do because sleek palettes don't have names for their shadows, but I will insert a picture here. The top row will be 1-6 starting from the left and the bottom row will be 7-12

Gunmetal - 8
Toasted - 5
Naked - 3
Buck - 11 (11 is a bit darker)
Creep - 10 (slightly similar)
Half Baked - 1 and 4
Virgin - 2
I would also say that 7 is similar to smog and darkhorse.
So there you have it.
Now onto the comparison

Colours - In each palette there are 12 colours. Some similar, some different. Both palettes contain neutral colours.
Price - The sleek palette costs £7.99 and the Naked palette is £36

Bonus Items - The Naked palette comes with bonus items - a good karma brush (which I really like) and a mini primer potion. I love the primer potion and I have already bought a full size for when my small one runs out.

The sleek palette comes with a normal eye shadow sponge brush. It was perfectly ok, that is until it fell of one end. It was however a lot better than the normal, tiny sponge brushes.

Packaging - The sleek palette packaging has sort of fallen apart for me. The lid has come of the little hinges and now it takes a lot of effort to close it. The Naked palette does not have the most practical packaging but I find that if I need to put it in my bag or take it on holiday I simply tie a few hair bobbles at the ends which really helps.

My opinion - IN my opinion the naked palette is worth the money. Yes it is £36 but yes it does live up to very high standards. It is amazing. With the sleek palette, I suppose I was expecting more. I would buy another palette from sleek but for me it doesn't really compare the the naked palette. The pigmentation is very good and the colours are lovely for a drugstore eye shadow palette but spending a bit more gets you a very lovely palette.

So that's it guys. Please tell me what you think and follow this blog.
I also recently purchased the Naked 2 after I fell in love with the naked 1. As well as the UD book of shadows - New york , which was on offer a couple of weeks ago at the airport. If you would like some reviews of those, or an in depth review of the naked 1 please let me know. Thanks for reading

The Hunger Games - Book Review

So its a bit of a different review today. A book review...
I have just finished reading the hunger games book 1.
And I love it. So I thought that I would just do a quick review so you can decide whether to read it or not.
Lets get going
So I saw the film before reading the books. I loved the film and tell everyone how good it is. It is officially my favourite film. And I thought that the book would be really different, and to be honest it wasn't really, there were just a few differences here and there. Let me try and explain the story without spoiling the it for you guys.
Katniss Everdeen lives in North America in Panem. She lives in District 12 with her mother sister and best friend Gale. Every year one girl and boy from 12 to 18 years are chosen to compete in the hunger games, which is a fight to the death. A boy and girl are chosen from each of the twelve districts. 24 travel to the Capitol and are trained before entering the arena and starting the fight. Katniss sister Prim is chosen and Katniss Volounteers to take her place in the arena.
I'll leave it there so that I don't spoil it.
This is such an engaging story. I love how Katniss is such a wonderful character. So brave. Suzanne Collins has created an imaginative story with so many great characters. I love the story line  I cant really think of a story to compare it to. It really is completely different to anything that I've read before.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone and also I would recommend the film. They are both are amazing. I do love the book more though. It has a lot more detail.
I am currently reading the next in the trilogy, "Catching Fire". So let me know whether you would like a review of that once I have finished it.
I <3 the Hunger Games!!!

Instagram...The best app

So today I will be chatting about one of the best apps on the app store... *Drum role please
Instagram!!!!! :D
For about 20 minutes a day, I have a little peek at other peoples pictures, because well I'm nosy like that. :D

But if you haven't heard about instagram. maybe because you don't have a phone that supports instagram, I suggest getting a phone that does. Most people have smart phones now. Instagram works with android and apple, unfortunately not blackberry. I have an iPhone 3gs and am going to be upgrading in the next few months, so I can't wait to see how good the pictures will be on a better camera. Because if I can make pictures this good on my 1 megapixel camera...
Then I'm sure that I could make some pretty good pictures with the next iPhone.

So, what is instagram?
Instagram is like a social networking app, where you can take pictures, but enhance them, change the colour and so on, to make them look a whole lot better. So imagine I took a picture of this
The I'd put it in instagram, choose effects and add all that jazz. Then we're done. Then I would click that lovely green tick and this screen would appear...
Ta dah
Then add tags and name it. Upload it to facebook if you want to, or twitter. Then click the other lovely green "Share" button. And guess what... That's it :)
So I would reccomend that you download instagram, its free and amazing. If you would like extra effects then you should think about pic fx, which isn't free but is worth it... :D.
Thanks for reading everyone :D And if you enjoyed, please follow, it makes me smile
BYE ;D

July 2012 Glossybox

Hi guys. Its that time of the month for a Glossybox Review. I received my box this morning and I'm not too sure what to make of the box. The sizes of the full size products and their prices seem to be a bit messed up. For instance the MONU cream is £14.95 for 15ml and you get 20ml in the tester and the exact same thing with the lip frosting, so I'd like to know what's happening there. This month was a festival themed box, but enough of me talking, lets get onto what I got in July's Glossybox.

1. Regenerating Collagen Gel
To be perfectly honest I have no intention of making use of this product. I'm sure it does it's job fine, but it's not the product for me so I can't really comment. But it seems to be a decent size. The normal 50ml Gel is £47.25 and this has 15ml, so decent size for your money, but it's just not for me. (above)

2. Kryolan Satin Powder Eyeshadow.
I really like this eyeshadow. At first I thought "Orange, No way" but then after examining it closely I realised that when you smudge it, it turns into this beautiful shimmery pink. This is a full size product and it retails for £4.75. I think that this is a decent product.

3. MONU Calming Cream
I like the idea of this product. It is supposed to calm redness on the skin, so this would be great for those times. I am going to save it for the. This retails for £14.95 for 15ml (I think it means 150ml, you get 20ml in the sample)
4. Awapuhi Wild Ginger
This is a hair spray that creates a tousled beach look. It has a divine smell, this is due to the ginger and i can't wait to give it a go. You get 25ml so I think this is a decent size, after all its a box full of 5 luxury samples. Full size is £18.95 for 150ml.
5. Jelly Pong Pong Lip Frosting
I Love love love this product. It's so smooth and nice on your lips and it also has a gorgeous colour. I would say sort of a pinky shimmery sort of colour. My colour is called Irish Cream Pavlova. The size is very cute and perfect for a handbag. The full size is £10.00 for 15ml (think its meant to be 150ml you get 20ml in the sample) Above is how it looks on the lips. ;)
6. Elizabeth Arden Face Stuff
This is a small added bonus this month. It has a few skin type things and I'm not too bothered about it. It's a nice bonus.

So this month was ok. This is the first month where I've not been over the moon, especially as some subscribers got a HD Brows palette, which made me green with envy :P. I'm going to carry on for a couple more months and if they aren't as good, then I'm going to stop subscribing. Lets hope the next couple of boxes are good or I'm going to say BYE. :)
Thanks for reading
Please follow my blog, I would appreciate it.

Glossybox April 2012 - Natural Box

If you read my previous post you would know that I took part in the two for one offer at Glossybox last week. I encountered a problem as on the GB Facebook page it said the extra box was only for new subscribers. I was worried, however the box turned up this morning and I was delighted to the find the natural box inside GB's gorgeous packaging. GB have really put lots of effort into this box. The packaging is GORGEOUS! But anyway, on with the products.
1. Burt's Bees Milk & Honey Body Lotion
I have always wanted to try a Burt's Bees product ad let me tell you they are really amazing. The consistency reminds me of Shea butter, and the smell is divine. It really does smell of milk and honey. On my hands, as I said, it felt like Shea Butter and I love how it felt. Really great product and I great size to just put in your bag on your way out.
2. Figs & Rouge Balm - Cherry Vanilla
This was one of the main products that I wanted in this Glossybox and I am so pleased. And i'm not disappointed. It is so soothing and tastes really minty and it smells gorgeous. This is the best lip balm by far and I am definitely going to go and purchase another when this one is gone. It's 100% pure, natural and organic and mine is cherry vanilla flavor. I'm also in love with the tin it is so cute and perfect for a handbag. So I officially in love with this product.
3. Monu Collagen Cream
This cream is probably one of the products that will sit on my shelf because I don't need a cream for dry or dehydrated skin. But I am pleased with the size and it smells really good :).
4. Caudalie Serum
I'm afraid I can't really comment on  this product because my skin doesn't lack moisture or need a serum because I'm still quite young. So this product has gone to my mum and she said she would get some use out of it.
5. Inka Eyeliner - Graphite
I was so worried that my inka product would be a lip liner but fortunately it was a eyeliner in a gorgeous colour. Its 07 Graphite. I love how it has a symbol on the packaging which means the eyeliner is cruelty free and environmentally conscious. This is my favourite product. The consistency is creamy and smooth and I love the whole product :) Can't wait to wear it out. I have included a little swatch to show you the colour.
So that was my natural box. I'm so pleased. I hope the actual box for this month is decent and when it arrives I will be doing a review on it. Can't wait. Until then
Bye xxx
